How does it work?

Alexander technique works by teaching people to recognize their habitual patterns of tension, movement and thought and to restore the natural poise and balance of the body by focusing in particular on the relationship between the head and the spine.  Private lessons are often the most effective way of learning the technique and applying it to your life.

What’s involved in a lesson?

Alexander technique teachers use both verbal direction and gentle manual guidance to encourage changes in movement in basic everyday activities, with some time being spent on the table. Loose fitting/easy to move in, sleeved clothes are all that’s required.  Lessons are approximately 40 minutes in duration and can be booked at your convenience.

How many lessons do you need?

As Alexander technique is an educational process rather than a therapy, a number of lessons are required to learn the skills required to apply Alexander technique to your life.  The number of lessons you require will vary but most people would have between 15 and 30 lessons and some people choosing to have more.
