Testimonials

Through constant and repetitive work in the hospitality industry I had developed a sharp and lingering pain in my left shoulder. After mixed results from several physios I decided to undertake the student clinic at the school. The course helped me become more aware of my body, how it should move and how I could relieve pain. My discomfort has now all but gone and by applying the simple principles I can prevent it from recurring.

Cal

Cal Savage

Cal discovered the benefits of Alexander technique about 10 years ago when she was suffering severe back pain.  She experienced tremendous relief from a course of 20 lessons which led her to live mostly pain free for the next few years, during which time she completed a BA (hons) in Drama at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth.

Her degree gave her an increased awareness of voice, movement and performance and realizing she could combine this knowledge with Alexander technique, led her to her decision to train as an Alexander technique teacher.  Cal also had a passion for Ashtanga yoga which she was keen to develop and this drew her to the teacher training course in Melbourne at The School for F.M. Alexander Studies, where yoga featured as part of their timetable and she could also gain a Diploma in Yoga and Alexander Technique Teaching.  As well as yoga, Cal has an interest in fitness and running and cycles regularly.

In preparation for the training course, Cal undertook one and a half years of weekly lessons with her teacher in England before moving to Melbourne to train as an Alexander technique teacher.  Cal now works privately from the Body Mind Alexander Technique Centre.
