“I love Lynne’s enthusiasm for the Alexander Technique and the way she continues to learn and share what she learns. Lynne puts a lot of thought into the information she shares and what might be useful to me. It makes it all interesting and fun to learn”. Catriona (AT student)

Private lessons

Working individually with a teacher in private lessons we gain insights into what we are actually doing with our bodies moment to moment to interfere with our natural design and learn how we can change and find our own natural coordination.

Like learning any instrument, learning to use our human instrument takes time and practice.

The eight one-on-one lesson package is a cost-effective way to explore the Alexander Technique. I strongly recommend it for those new to the Technique to find out what the Alexander Technique is and how it benefits you.  Lessons will ideally be at regular weekly intervals.  For those continuing to explore the Technique, subsequent packages can be taken at any pace that suits.

Eight lessons package (x 50 minutes) $360  – Initial or ongoing

Single lessons are also available - Single lessons (x 50 minutes) $60

Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays are the most open days for lessons. Contact me by email or phone.

Wear comfortable clothes (pants are preferable).

Private lessons can be supplemented by small group experiential classes over five or six weeks where we explore how the body is designed to function as a total system in action.

What my students say

Of the six new students in 2021, all reported a high degree of satisfaction with the lessons and would recommend them to others.

Of the five reporting some pain or discomfort prior to starting lessons, all noted their pain/discomfort improved over the course of the lessons and all felt better able to manage it when it occurred.

All students reported they perceived they had changed as a result of the lessons:
“I feel taller when standing”
“I am more conscious of how I hold myself, try not to rush before thinking. I enjoy my time doing semi supine and feel better after the session.”
“Much more aware of my body map.”
“More aware of what my muscles are doing through the day. And aware that I can relax them and thus feel better. Appreciate the value of constructive resting and it’s restorative effect. My mat has become a permanent fixture in the house.”
“I notice fairly quickly if I am not standing/sitting/moving with a nice lengthened spine.”
“Thoughtful about posture and movement”.

Five of the six students feel these changes will be long term and all are applying what they learned to everyday life.
